There is a lot going on in our world that is troubling and politics and division are the headlines in the news but with this blog, I want to focus on the sweet simple things in life. They matter.
In any given day, we have many small moments that God blesses each of us with that we can overlook if we don't slow down to notice. God is reminding me of that a lot lately. I can get focused on situations, that can at times be overwhelming, which take my eyes off of the simple blessings in life.
For instance, I enjoy watching a sunrise or sunset or listening to the bird's sing or playing cars or blocks with my grandson. I think these simple things gives us the balance we need in life.
For instance, red birds or cardinals. I love to see them in our yard or in our trees. I buy bird seed they like. They remind me of my mother. She loved seeing these birds and when she was passing from this life to be with God, a red bird sat on the windowsill of her bedroom while she was taking her last breath on this earth. When she passed the bird flew away.
Simple things and simple moments in life bring joy and contentment in a world that focuses so much on division and discord. We all need to slow down and breathe and enjoy those moments.
